I really like this table from Neil Usher which contrasts ‘predominant’ (in my terms, slow-and-steady) value against ‘social’ (fast-and-loose) values:

The last should be first. The slow-and-steady business of the postmodern, late industrial age is constructed on ‘process value’: organized around the ways it provides value. But the fast-and-loose business of the postnormal is built on ‘end value’: organized around the value it provides.
